A funeral was held Feb. 25 at the Winton Cemetery for Rickey Ray McCoy, 52, of Modesto. He died Feb. 14, 2009.
Allen Mortuary was in charge of arrangements.
Born March 21, 1956, Rickey was born in Merced to Virgil McCoy and Doris Beni. he grew up in Merced because his father was in the military grew up all over the United States, leaving in South Dakota, Alaska and Illinois. He graduated from Douglas High in South Dakota. He lived in Ceres approximately 20 years ago when he managed an apartment complex with his wife before transferring to Washington state. Rickey became a truck driver, and then moved back to California.
He leaves behind his wife of 32 years, Sandra Angela McCoy of Modesto (who owns a Ceres salon); his children, Billy McCoy and Angela Moreno, both of Modesto; four grandchildren, Izzy Moreno, Samantha Moreno, Blanca Moreno and Joshua Moreno, all of Modesto; his sisters, Roberta Grandburg of Utah and Cindy Freitas of Hilmar; and two brothers, Randy Beni and Joe Beni, both of Hilmar.
