A funeral was held Monday at Turlock Funeral Home for Robert Abraham, 81, of Hughson. He died Oct. 9, 2007.

Burial was at Turlock Memorial Park under the direction of Turlock Funeral Home.

Born March 8, 1926, Mr. Abraham was a native of Illinois and was raised in Indiana. He enlisted in the US Army and served during World War II. After his discharge, he moved to Delhi and then settled in Hughson in 1960. Mr. Abraham worked for Modesto State Hospital for 17 years as a psychiatric technician. He was also a rancher for many years, farming almonds and peaches.

Mr. Abraham was a member of the Turlock Steppin' Pards, the Turlock VFW and was a member of several agricultural organizations in the Valley.

He leaves behind his wife, Betty Abraham of Hughson, his sons, Clinton Armes, Robert Armes and Jeffrey Abraham; two brothers; two sisters; and 10 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Pirus and Sophie Abraham; and his brother, William Abraham.
