A Mass was held Friday at St. Jude's Catholic Church for Romula Caraveo Loya, 87, of Modesto. She died Tuesday, July 20, 2004 at her home.
Burial was at St. Stanislaus Catholic Cemetery under the direction of Salas Brothers Funeral Chapel.
Born April 6, 1917, Mrs. Loya was a native of Chihuahua, Mexico, and had lived in Modesto since 1972. She was a homemaker and a seamstress. Mrs. Loya was a member of St. Jude's Catholic Church in Ceres.
She leaves behind nine children, Sara Cueto, Rose Eva Arenas, Abel Loya, Luz Alba Gloria and Laura Martinez, all of Modesto, Elisa Sanchez and Aurora Olvera, both of El Paso, Texas, Candelaria Ayon of Earlimart and Elva Leticia Gutierrez of Delhi; and 39 grandchildren and 44 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Manuel O. Loya.
