Rubert C. Westbrook

A graveside service will be at 10 a.m. today (Wednesday) at Lakewood Memorial Park for Rubert Cullus Westbrook, 91, of South Modesto. He died Thursday, Aug. 11, 2005 at Sundial Senior Lodge.

Lakewood Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Born Oct. 2, 1913, Mr. Westbrook was a native of Seveir County, Ark., and lived in Modesto for 50 years. He was a painter of Boeing planes. Mr. Westbrook was a charter member of the Industrial Fire Department in South Modesto and was a Boy Scout and Cub Scout leader. He also was a holistic healer of burn victims.

Mr. Westbrook leaves behind his wife, Vera Westbrook of Modesto; four brothers, Ted Westbrook of Texas, Ray Westbrook and Bob Westbrook, both of Arkansas, and Arthur Westbrook of Washington; and two sisters, Francis Tobia of Washington and Katie Marie Griffin of Arkansas. He was preceded in death by one brother and two sisters.
