Steven E. Reiswig

A celebration of life will be held at 1 p.m. July 16 at the Turlock Sportsmen's Club, 13949 Carpenter Road, Crows Landing, for Steven E. Reiswig, 58, of Ceres. He died June 17, 2005 in Wendover, Nev.

Burial will take place at 11 a.m. today (Wednsday) at the San Joaquin Valley National Cemetery in Santa Nella.

Born Oct. 2, 1946, Mr. Reiswig was a native of Modesto and graduated from Davis High School in 1964. He was honorably discharged from the Marine Corps in 1969 after serving in Vietnam where he earned numerous medals, including the Purple Heart, Good Conduct Medal, Rifle Sharpshooter badge and the Pistol Expert Badge.

After attending Modesto Junior College Mr. Reiswig became a maintenance mechanic for Gallo Winery where he worked 13 years. He spent 20 years at Kraft Foods as a maintenance mechanic, retiring in 2002. Steve was a member of Teamsters Local 386 in Modesto.

An avid sportsman and firearms enthusiast, Mr. Reiswig was on the Turlock Sportsman Club board of directors. He also taught gun safety classes for Boy Scouts. He also repaired guns and detailed stock work.

He leaves behind his wife of 19 years, Patti Reiswig of Ceres; four children, Anne Reiswig of Modesto, Patricia Pruett of Pleasanton, John Reiswig of New Church, Va., and Steven Festa of Modesto; his mother, Kathleen Reiswig of Seal Beach; and five grandchildren.
