A Mass was held Tuesday at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Modesto for Thelma Ida Coelho, 87, of Modesto. She died Dec. 5, 2007 at Doctors Medical Center after a series on illnesses.
Burial was at St. Stanislaus Catholic Cemetery under the direction of the Colonial Chapel of Franklin & Downs.
Born Sept. 16, 1920, Mrs. Coelho was a native of Hughson and grew up in Hughson and attended school there. She was a homemaker and a partner in the Genasci family dairy. Mrs. Coelho was an active member of the Stanislaus County Swiss Club and the Dante Club. She enjoyed her flowers, traveling and time with family and friends.
She leaves behind her husband of 34 years, Louis Coelho of Modesto; her three children, Janet Shafer, Edwin Genasci, and Dorothy Parker, all of Modesto; her sister, Lorraine Brughelli, of Modesto; and eight grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents, Adolph and Gena Martella; brothers, Roy and Melvin Martella and her first husband, John Genasci.
