A funeral service was held on Monday at the Apostalic Assembly First Church of Modesto in South Modesto for Toribio "Tony" Amador, 76, of South Modesto. He died Jan. 16, 2010.

Burial was at Lakewood Memorial Park under the direction of Salas Brothers Chapel.

Born Aug. 26, 1933 in Seguin, Texas to Martin and Anita Amador, Tony came to California as a boy. He served in the Army for two years. In 1956 he attended Modesto Junior College. Mr. Amador was the owner of Amador Auto Body. He was a kind and hardworking man who was willing to help anyone in need.

He leaves behind his wife of 54 years, Apolita "Polly" Amador of South Modesto; three children, Vivian Lopez of Riverbank, and Grace Arteaga and Alex Amador, both of Modesto; four sisters, Mary Bernal, Betty Martinez, Alice Young and Jesucita Amador; his brother, Gilbert Amador; and six grandchildren.
