A funeral service was held Saturday at Lakewood Memorial Park for Violet Davenport, 73, of Hughson. She died Jan. 2, 2010 at her home.
Born Sept. 20, 1936 Violet was a long-time resident of Hughson. She retired as a baker with the Hughson Elementary School. Mrs. Davenport was a long time member of First Baptist Church of Hughson.
She leaves behind her husband, William Davenport Sr. of Hughson; her children, William Davenport Jr., Jean Fowler, Ruth Davenport, Edna Chalupnik and James Davenport; and 11 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. She also had eight sisters and five brothers.
