A graveside service was held at Lakewood Memorial Park Saturday for Virginia Nellie Olds Rehder, 88, of Modesto. She died April 21, 2008 at Acacia Park Nursing Home in Modesto where she resided for the past seven months.

The Colonial Chapel of Franklin & Downs was in charge of arrangements.

Born July 18, 1914 to William and Nellie Olds, in Lapwai, Idaho, Virginia came to California in 1919, and settled in Hughson. She lived her adult years in Modesto. She was baptized in the First Christian Church as a young teenager, and attended there most of her younger years; attending Calvary Temple and later Neighborhood Church. She was a member of Dania Lodge in Modesto. Mrs. Rehder worked many years for Lee's Ready To Wear and Lee's Gift Store on J Street in Modesto.

She leaves behind her children, Jerry Criswell, Clarnell Horman and Glenda Baldridge; her step-son Dave Rehder; and 16 grandchildren, 35 great-grand children, and nine great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Otto Rehder, sisters Velma Moreland Maybe, Ollie Tyra and Frances Challberg, and brothers Fredirk Olds, Donald Olds and Woodrow Olds.
