Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Thursday, July 30, at Eaton Family Funeral Home, 513 12th Street, Modesto, for William Frances "Frank" Roberts, 73, of Modesto. He died peacefully in hospice care surrounded by his loved ones.

A graveside service with full military honors will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, July 31 at Lakewood Memorial Park, 900 Santa Fe Ave., Hughson.

Frank was born May 28, 1942 in Klamath Falls, Ore. He served two years in Vietnam. While in the service he received a Vietnam Service Medal along with a Sharpshooter Medal earned with the M-14. Upon, his discharge of the Army with the rank of SP4, Frank moved to Sacramento where he worked in woodworking for 24 years at the same cabinet shop. In 1990, Frank moved to Modesto to be closer to his family. He continued working several years in woodworking until he was injured on the job and was forced to retire.

An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed spending time with his family going camping, hunting, and fishing.

Divorced, he left no children behind. He is survived by his brothers and sisters, Robert Roberts, Fred Roberts, Loretta Jackson, Bessie Jackson and Kathy Brightwell.

Frank was a devoted uncle to his 11 nieces and nephews.
