A church service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Assembly of God church for William Sherman Drake, 94, of Modesto. He died Sunday, Dec. 18, 2005 at English Oaks Convalescent Hospital.
Burial will be at Lakewood Memorial Park.
Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. today (Wednesday) at Allen Mortuary in Turlock.
Born May 16, 1911, Mr. Drake was a native of Anderson, Mo., and lived in Modesto for four years. He was a carpenter for union Local 25 for 53 years. Mr. Drake enjoyed camping, fishing, traveling and singing at church.
He leaves behind four children, Nadine Spears and Betty Jean Mason, both of Hughson, Billy Dean Drake of Ceres and Jack Ray Drake of Groveland; and 14 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren and eight great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by three brothers and four sisters.
