The stupidity flowing from Sacramento just continues like a bloody nose.
I love Skittles and have for decades. Now the Control Freaks of Sacramento want to ban the sale of Skittles in California because the tasty candy contains Red Dye No. 3. Not okay but I’m sure Amazon will deliver them to the house.
I don’t know what we’d do without Assemblyman Jesse Gabriel working overtime to make sure we all live an extra 15 or 20 minutes in our lifetime. While he’s at it, if he’s so concerned about health of kids why not just a wholesale ban on sugar? Just take away all the flavor in our short lives. Make life as bland and as miserable as possible because we’re too stupid to make decisions about what to put in our mouths.
But the Democrats are totally fine with people puffing on weed all day long and stupefying their existence; not to mention totally fine with impressionable children choosing to mutilate their own genitalia because they are confused over why God put that between their legs.
There is definitely a special kind of stupid in Sacramento.

Two weeks ago I went in for a sleep study and was asked to fill out a medical form. Male or female, they wanted to know. Other categories weren’t listed because the medical profession deals in real science, not societal fantasies.
I keep wondering why such a small sliver of the American populace gets to dominate the national discussion. But it’s nonsense that trans people are pushing kids to get gender reassignment surgery without parental knowledge.
At least Oklahoma and Texas legislators have common sense left. Those states have proposed bills – dubbed the Millstone Act – which would bar surgeons from turning people under the age of 26 into “girls” and girls into “boys.”
It’s a good idea considering that often youth are confused, immature individuals who will do things they often regret once they mature.
Even Hollywood plastic surgeons Terry Dubrow and Paul Nassif turn down extreme surgeries on adults if they believe there are psychological issues which need to be resolved before the freak show begins.
Meanwhile back in the land of fruits and nuts, some are decrying a bill authored by (sane) Republican Assemblymen Bill Essayli and James Gallagher which would give public schools three days to notify parents in writing should their child become confused and identify at school with a gender that doesn’t align with reality, or if they try to join an opposite gender athletic team.
Of course, state Senator Scott Wiener (D-SF), a true moral reprobate, condemns the bill. He doesn’t want parents knowing such information about their own flesh and blood (how would Wiener know about parenting because as a gay man he’s never produced a child?). He calls it “ratting out” kids and suggests that would “risk violence at home.” That says all you need to know about how Wiener views parents and wants schools to shield them from those who are legally responsible for them.
Don’t look for the GOP bill to pass. This is California, after all, and ya’ll elected these anti-parent, anti-police, anti-fetus, anti-Christian, anti-conservative, anti-landlord, anti-white, anti-male, anti-taxpayer, anti-farmer, anti-business, anti-freedom and anti-water storage legislators.

Go woke, go broke. It happened with Silicon Valley Bank. Now Disney is laying off 7,000 employees.
When I was a kid, Walt Disney produced fantasy all while fully embracing America and its values in his feature films. Today his company could care less and pushes the Woke culture. Their films in recent years have dished same-sex characters to a country that is overwhelmingly heterosexual.
Recent Disney/Pixar movies Lightyear and Strange World, with budgets of $200 million and $180 million, respectively, were box office flops. Both films contained explicit LGBT themes intended for children and families! They deserve to go broke!
I was astounded to be in Disney’s California Adventure on March 9 and watch the “World of Color” presentation. That’s where projected images are shone onto a curtain of mist sprayed in the lagoon. It was billed as a celebration of Disney’s first 100 years, yet it completed dismissed every production supervised by Walt! It was all focused on recent Woke Disny films and not once did they show a Mickey or a Donald or a Pluto or Peter Pan or Davy Crockett or Lady & The Tramp. Some celebration of Walt’s supervised productions! No doubt, the current Disney regime loathes everything about Uncle Walt, a white Republican who was not anti Jew and anti-black like the Left insists but it was on Family Guy so it must be true, right?
Something which conservative personality Michael Knowles said last week resonates with me. He was mentioning how President Biden came out to the podium to announce formation of the new Avi Kwa Ame National Monument in Nevada. For something as important as Biden said it was, he couldn’t even pronounce the name.
The region supposedly is sacred to the Mojave, Chemehuevi, and some Southern Paiute people.
Knowles accurately notes that the trend of naming monuments with veneration after cultures other than our own is troubling and represents a loss of affection for our own culture and embraces the preposterous notion that America is bad and evil. Whites in history is being rewritten or ignored. Father Serra was evil and Tibercio Vasquez was good (and if you don’t know about them it’s because our education system sucks). Even Native American tribes attacked and killed to occupy this real estate. So which culture is to be valued higher than others?
We see big corporations make this crazy effort to grovel and make penitence for America’s “sins” through Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) training.
Microsoft, for example, recently wanted to “acknowledge that the land where the Microsoft campus is situated was traditionally occupied by the Sammamish, The Duwamish, The Snowqualmie, the Muckleshoot, the Snohomish, the Tulalip, and other Coast-Salish peoples since time immemorial.”
Coca-Cola’s diversity training was most offensive, calling for employees to be “less white,” meaning “be less oppressive, less arrogant, less certain, less defensive, less ignorant, more humble, break with white solidarity.” Wow, is that not the most racist thing to say about white people? And I thought those traits can apply to all races.
Eric Smith, a former diversity officer at Drew University, considers it all useless. Smith – who is a black man – says it’s making race relations worse. Why? He says company training has employees believing that asking an innocuous question like “what do you do for a living” to a person of another race is an act of microaggression and racist. That’s causing some folks to just bow out of taking a chance at interacting with someone different than them.
The same concept is going on within our police departments where officers are afraid to approach people of color because they will be subjected to charges of racism.
Actor Morgan Freeman has a better idea. End racism by quit talking about it instead of, as Kamala Harris likes to say having “a national conversation.”
Just see people for people. It’s simple.
A better approach is one of getting rid of DEI and pushing Equity, Merit and Colorblindness.

What I am seeing in with our society, the embrace of socialism, the rejection of our history, the lack of reverence for our founding and principles for our founding, the obsession with self-promotion, the focus on the contemporary at the expense of the eternal, the spiritual erosion, is very troubling to me.
Americans have been worn down on the issue of gay marriage and acceptance of the gay lifestyle. Actually, I think they grew tired of being called hateful, so they waved the white flag and surrendered with, “We don’t get your way of thinking but this America, it’s your life, have at it. Just don’t make me think it’s okay.”
Now we are confronted with the most militant activists who want to foist their perversities on our children in their abominable quest to parade men dressed like women in public libraries. I believe most Americans are “hell no” on this one.
Last week at the Texas state house, Loren Perkins, a man pretending to be a woman, seized the microphone at a hearing over a proposed Texas state law to ban public funding to libraries which host drag queen story hours for kids. Perkins compared Republican lawmakers to Hitler, suggesting that “by hiding your bigotry behind children like cowards, you will find yourself on the wrong side of history.”
Au contraire. It is Perkins on the wrong side of history.
Perkins said “We can see through this veneer of legislation and assess the intended target: the continued marginalization and othering of the LGBTQIA+ community.”
Be not confused, it’s about preventing a fringe group of sexually confused individuals from spinning children into their web of sickness.
If it offends you that I use scripture to point out realities of our culture, sorry, but what we’re seeing is a direct manifestation of a people abandoning God and his constraints in favor of one’s licentious desires.
2 Timothy 3 talks about a coming time in which “people will be lovers of self, lovers of money, proud, arrogant, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, heartless, unappeasable, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not loving good, treacherous, reckless, swollen with conceit, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, having the appearance of godliness, but denying its power. Avoid such people.”

I shall never forget seeing my first fatal car crash. I was working for another local newspaper in the 1980s and heard of a solo crash on J-59 in the La Grange area of Stanislaus County. I went because I heard there was a fatality.
When I got there, the sedan was resting on its side west of the roadway. The car had apparently veered into the oncoming lane, off the road and up an embankment before flipping onto its side. The face-up body of a woman was protruding from beneath the car with the roof pinning her head to the ground. There was no one to save. I watched as helpless firefighters and a sheriff’s deputy pushed the car back onto its four wheels, uncovering her face. Where the top of a door and roof met had pressed down on her mouth and neck, with her lower jaw grotesquely separated from her face. Her eyes were staring into eternity. It was horrifyingly grisly.
The deputy located her driver’s license. She was a Merced real estate agent on her way back home to the Sonora area. I remember thinking that her family was about to get some really tragic news.
Why relate this disturbing story? Well, because she wasn’t wearing her seatbelt and was ejected. Had she remained in the car, her body wouldn’t have been flung outside to be crushed.
That recollection came to mind when I read about the Friday morning, March 17 crash on eastbound Harding Road west of Moffet Road. It was another deadly solo crash where the driver was ejected for not wearing a seatbelt. Dylan Linhares, 31, of Turlock, left behind a wife and three young children. Such a needless tragedy – all because he apparently didn’t buckle up.
I never drive without a seatbelt and can’t believe that in 2023 anyone does. According to a U.S. Department of Transportation survey in 2022, 8.4 percent of drivers don’t wear them.
Those who don’t wear seat belts are just being stupid – and stupid sometimes has very dire consequences.
