Thanks for helping to feed the poor

Editor, Ceres Courier,

I want to thank the public community of Ceres, the CUSD, and the Ceres Partnership for Healthy Children who have contributed to the Food Basket Giveaway at Thanksgiving and Christmas that Ceres Valley View Church of the Nazarene has hosted for the past 10 plus years. Because of your generous giving and gifts of love, we are able to care for over 500 people in Ceres. We are able to do this through 100 percent donations from the community.

All of the food, time, and and children's gifts of stuffed animals, games, and puzzles are donated by loving and caring indiviuals of Ceres like yourselves. George Ward is one of the leaders of this program and receives no compensation. Sometimes we have over 30 people from the school district and others organizations helping to set up, visit, and send people out with some food. Thanks to George for the many hours, and many others who make this possible by giving tirelessly to this great endeavor. You, George, are loved and appreciated.

We want to extend our gratitude and appreciation to you, our fellow citizens and community, for helping us make the holidays a little bit more special for some families.

If you are interested in donating funds or food itmes for needy families and emergency food needs throughout the year, and especially during the holidays, please feel free to stop by the church, 3901 E. Whitmore Ave., or call 556-7310 (George), or 324-7383 (Craig), your help is again appreciated.
