Why oppose a Supercenter?

Editor, Ceres Courier,

I don't understand why anyone would be against the new Wal-Mart. The extra traffic it would bring is localized along 99. It will bring people in from Modesto and Turlock instead of us going to them. The finer restaurants and stores don't have enough draw by themselves to warrant being built. With the Wal-Mart draw maybe Ceres can become something other than a bedroom community for Modesto and Turlock.

Galen Hedgecock,

Ceres
