Letter carriers say thanks for donating food to poor

Editor, Ceres Courier,

The postal employees in Ceres, Hughson and Keyes wish to thank all the patrons who helped the Food Drive by donating to our cause. Between the three cities we were able to raise a total of 4,100 pounds of food for local food banks in these communities. The need is great and those that stepped up to help are greatly appreciated.

Once again thank you to all those that made this possible, we were about 500 pounds over last year.

Walt Butler

Food Drive Chairman,

Ceres

Smyrna Park Rose Garden needs some attention

Editor, Ceres Courier,

It is sad to see the rose garden at Smyrna Park look so bad. I am sure the donor is also disappointed. I would like to see one of the local organizations take over the care. It has beautiful roses but you can hardly see them because of the weeds. That is one of the major corners of Smyrna Park so let's see it cleaned up even if the city has to do it.

Ivy Laffoon,

Ceres
