Quality of Ceres life is his vision

Editor, Ceres Courier,

As a City Council candidate, I started this race because of a vision. My vision starts with producing a quality of life for the citizens of Ceres. Having walked door to door I have the opportunity to share my vision and talk about what was going to make Ceres a better place. Public safety was at the top of everyone's list we all want to feel safe and our infrastructure needs are important to our growth; if we don't have infrastructure we don't have the ability to grow.

As a citizen who has lived in Ceres all their life, I want my children and their children to have a reason to enjoy Ceres. We need a downtown, not just a plan, but partnerships and real commitments. We need more local businesses to feel welcome; not turned off by bureaucracy and fees.

As a city councilman, I will work with you to make Ceres a better place to call home. Ceres needs to be a place where we can live, work, learn and entertain. I'm not afraid to answer the tough questions and I'm not afraid to stand up for the citizens of Ceres.

On Nov. 3 elect Mike Kline for City Council.

Mike Kline,

Ceres

If elected, will they listen to voters?

Editor, Ceres Courier,

There is much excitement in the air as those running for elective office are walking the streets, knocking on doors, putting up signs and asking friends, neighbors and constituents for their vote. They are also doing a lot of listening to these same people.

However, when the voters have made their choice, I hope these same people will still be interested in what their friends, neighbors and constituents have to say. If it is a decision about bringing a new business into town or naming a new school, I hope those responsible for those decisions will be just as eager to solicit input as they were in soliciting votes. And yes, community members should feel an obligation to participate in city and school issues, but city and school leaders, especially those that are elected, have the obligation to seek that crucial participation and input from community members.

Kathy Casey,

Ceres
