Impressed by Rep. Jeff Denham's performance

Editor, Ceres Courier,

It is impressive the legislation that Congressman Jeff Denham has authored or cosponsored on a variety of issues during his first term.

One such item is his bipartisan Veteran Skills to Jobs Act (H.R. 4155), having passed into law, and will create a skill certification process that will help vets secure good jobs. Mr. Denham also sponsored H.AMDT 1367 to H.R 5972, an amendment to prohibit the use of funds to be used for the $98 billion High Speed Rail, that has no private investors.

He co-sponsored the Sacramento-San Joaquin Valley Water Reliability Act (H.R. 1837) that permits water storage project construction throughout California, and will increase water delivery and certainty to create valley jobs.

Other important bills that Denham has co-sponsored include: HR 2: Repealing the Job-Killing Health Care Law Act; HR 10: Regulations From The Executive in Need of Scrutiny Act of 2011; HR 750: Defending America's Affordable Energy Act; and HR 1744: American Job Protection Act.

A special shout out to Mr. Denham for the jobs fair he held at the Stanislaus County Fairgrounds on Wednesday, August 22. Employers spoke to job seekers while distributing information and taking resumes. That's what I call fully engaged public service.

Narinder Mann,

Ceres
