Assertive statements, please
Letters

Editor, Ceres Courier,

Have is a listen inside Biden’s brain on whether he should declare war on Iran.

“A boots-on-the-ground American war would really help me win in November. Wartime presidents always win re-election.”

“What if somebody brings up that we have dozens of military bases all over the Middle East loudly intimidating all the locals there? If the Iranians had tanks and fighter jets stationed all over America, wouldn’t our people want to push back or even fight? Yeah, yeah, but who is ever going to bring that up?”

“Okay, there’s also the problem of whether I should declare war against the ‘proxy forces’ like Iran-backed militias in Syria or Iraq, or Iran itself. I say, just release a statement saying Iran is the axis of evil and forget about documenting anything. Remember Bush’s statement that Iraq had hordes of weapons of mass destruction? He never documented anything, and he got re-elected.”

The public just wants assertive statements based on hot air, like Trump’s statement that the bipartisan Senate border deal is “a bad bill” before details were even released. Yeah, yeah, let’s do it.
