This letter is in response to the recent article in the Modesto Bee about letters of endorsement for Congressman Jeff Denham. The article stated that the Bee called several letter writers and that they had no knowledge of the letters that were written. The Bee also stated that they verify all letters. I and several other veterans have submitted letters of endorsement for Congressman Jeff Denham, of which some were published. The Bee did not contact myself or the other veterans to verify signatures on the said letters.

The Modesto Bee has waged a smear campaign against Congressman Denham from the beginning of his election campaign with untruths that they failed to verify, and endorsing Josh Harder stating he is qualified for the job. I call on the Modesto Bee to be more civic minded and print the truth. Enough of fake news.
