Downtown challenges are great but enthusiasm is exciting and positive

Editor, Ceres Courier,

Thank you for the article in the Courier (Wednesday, Oct. 30) regarding the CDRAB meeting. It was good to see the highest attendance, since I've been on the board, by businesses, Chamber leadership and Alliance representatives. There is no doubt that the challenges are great, yet this meeting demonstrated interest from many of the stakeholders in working together to improve our downtown. As I said at the meeting and you quoted in your article, I do love Ceres and I love our downtown. I look forward to working with Renee Ledbetter and the Chamber leadership. I truly believe there will be a positive result by working as partners.

Laurie Smith,
CDRAB Board Member &
Ceres Planning Commissioner
