Increase social spending, less on military, tax cuts
a-letter-envelope-5

Editor, Ceres Courier,

I think President Trump's current federal budget proposals is all wrong. We must choose to build stronger communities rather than than have more military spending and tax cuts.

The budget proposal would decimate efforts to ensure access to food, medical care , and to provide opportunities for our most vulnerable members of our communities in order to fund billions more in Pentagon spending and massive tax cuts for the wealthiest people in our country.

I would at least urge our local Congressman Denham to reject these cuts and support funding for effective programs and agencies that support health and economic security for us all.

We have had at times one of the highest poverty rates here in the Central Valley of California. We will surely be hurt if these cuts are mandated. Good luck to all on this. Please at least lobby or state your views to Congressman Denham.

Daniel Marsh,
Ceres
