Central Valley High School's varsity girls basketball team lost just six games in 2011-12.

The new-look Hawks dropped to 0-5 on the year this past week.

Central Valley graduated multiple players from last year's team, including starters Valerie Olide, Diana Carmona and Vivien Fermil.

"I'm not surprised," head coach Jesse Padilla said while talking about his team's early-season struggles. "We're young. We just need to find the right group. We got a lot to work on. We'll turn things around."

The Hawks compiled an 0-3 record at the Galt tournament.

Central Valley lost to Folsom on Saturday, West Campus on Friday and Colfax on Thursday.

"I saw some good things," Padilla said. "We're getting better."
