Prep golfer Anthony Bonales competed in two tournaments this past week.

"I've been playing pretty solid," said Bonales, who will begin his junior year at Central Valley High School on Aug. 15. "I just have to stay focused on the course. That's one of the hardest things to do."

Anthony shot a 2-under-par 70 while placing first in the Boys 14-17 Flight at the Micke Grove Junior Classic on Friday in Lodi.

Bonales took second at the Matt Hansen Junior Classic, which was staged Aug. 4-5 at Stevinson Ranch Golf Club.

He posted rounds of 77 and 73 on his way to firing a 150.

Anthony added to his Junior Golf Association of Northern California points total last week.

He ranked third in Boys 16-17 Performance Points Tabulation (192) and moved to fourth in the Team Points-Boys 14-17 standings (132).
