Gresham lined a single to center field, moved to second on a passed ball and advanced to third on a balk. He scored on Reyes' single to left field.

Reyes moved to second on a balk and to third on Malagon's infield single. Sophomore Jonathan Montez drove in Reyes and Malagon with a single to left.

With two out in the inning, Nick Eudy reached first on a fielder's choice. He stole second and scored on Loveland's double to center.

Cruz Flores, Ceres' ninth batter, walked.

Brian Borges, Gresham, Reyes, Goblirsch and Malagon followed with RBI singles.

Franklin trimmed Ceres' lead to four in the top of the four inning. The Yellowjackets scored five runs.

"You throw away that one inning and we played a solid ball game," Williams said.

Ceres' pitching staff allowed 11 runs on eight hits, six walks and two hit batsmen in seven innings.

Reyes, Ceres' starter, surrendered five hits and six earned runs in four innings. He had three strikeouts. In three innings of relief, Malagon gave up no runs and fanned three.
