The Ceres Gray 14-and-under All-Stars collected one win, two ties and a loss on their way to a third-place finish at the Bel Passi baseball tournament.

"I'm never upset with the boys," said head coach John Cardelli, whose team improved to 16-3-3 in summer-league play. "They always give 100 percent."

The All-Stars were hurt by four errors.

"We can't win every game," Cardelli said.

Jesse Hatfield allowed one run in two innings of relief.

Wes Ward caught all seven innings.

Bel Passi Red broke a 4-4 tie with a run in the bottom of the sixth inning.

Ceres Gray failed to respond in the top of the seventh.

The All-Stars totaled seven hits off Bel Passi Red's pitching staff.
