Dawgs rout Panthers

Ceres defeated Modesto High 10-0 in Ceres on Thursday. Freshman pitcher Kristen Ghimenti notched her fifth shutout of the season. She struck out six batters in the game, which was shortened due to the 10-run slaughter rule and wet weather.

"The umpire stopped it in the fifth inning when we were still at bat," said Ceres coach Steve Pierce. "It was rainy and they didn't have a pitcher who could get it over the plate." - By DALE BUTLER / Staff Reporter of The Ceres (Calif.) Courier
