Ceres High varsity boys basketball head coach Brian de la Porte stomped his foot and punched the air in frustration during the second half of Friday's 64-33 Western Athletic Conference blowout loss to visiting Central Catholic.
The Bulldogs dropped to 7-9 overall and 0-2 in the conference standings.
The Raiders, co-champs in the WAC with Los Banos a season ago, improved to 14-2 and 2-0.
Ceres High will play at Pacheco today and host to Patterson on Friday.
Both games will tip off at 7:30 p.m.
"We need to play how we practice," Ceres High senior leader Jimbo Pernetti said. "We need to play as a team."
Pernetti and Abel Reyes both scored a team-high 10 points against Central Catholic.
Bulldog center Harman Chung was limited to four points.
Terrell Elder collected a game-high 16 points for the Raiders.
Donovin Townsend had 14 points, six assists and four rebounds.
Joe Hamilton tallied nine points, five rebounds and four assists.
John Fenton, Central Catholic's 6-foot-9 center, wasn't a factor on the offensive end.
He scored six of his 11 points in garbage time.
"We did a pretty good job on Fenton," Pernetti said. "I think we were too worried about him. We didn't account for the rest of them."
Ceres High trailed 28-17 at the break.
Central Catholic pulled away with a 9-0 run late in the first half.
"We were in trouble once we got down by 10," Bulldogs head coach Brian de la Porte said.
