Ceres High grad/sophomore shortstop Nicole "Sis" Bates collected one single, two RBIs, two runs and four walks as Washington's top-ranked softball team took over sole possession of first place in the Pac-12 standings this past week after earning its third straight series sweep.

Bates and the Huskies topped the Utah Utes three times.

Washington improved to 39-2 on the year and 10-2 in conference play.

Bates batted 1-for-2 from the plate with one RBI, one run and two walks during the Huskies' 5-0 win over Utah on Friday.

Nicole drove in one run, scored once and walked twice in Washington's 12-0 blowout of Utah on Saturday.

She was hitless in three at-bats on Sunday. The Huskies rallied for a 2-1 victory.

Former Bulldog/freshman third baseman Rayohna Sagapolu helped the San Jose State softball team secure a split versus the Nevada Wolf Pack on Sunday in Reno.

Sagapolu batted 1-for-2 from the plate with one run and one walk in the Spartans' 8-3 win against the Wolfpack during Game 1.

Rayohna singled in San Jose State's 7-6 victory over Nevada during Game 2.
The third game of the series was postponed due to poor weather.

The first-place Spartans improved to 25-11 overall and 9-2 in the Mountain West Conference.

Ceres High grad/freshman pitcher Callie Nunes and Concordia University's third-place softball team (23-11, 12-6 PacWest) topped fifth-place Biola University (29-13, 12-10) twice on Saturday in Irvine.

Nunes tallied six strikeouts as Concordia shut out Biola 3-0 during Game 1.

She allowed no runs and just one hit in seven innings.

Callie improved her pitching record to 14-3.

Nunes didn't pitching during the second game, which Concordia won by a score of 3-2.
