The Mae Hensley Jr. High wrestling program experienced success while competing at its home tournament this past week.

The Warriors placed first at the Mayhem Tournament for the second year in a row.

Mae Hensley Jr. High piled up 306 points.

The crosstown-rival Blaker Kinser Jr. High Sharks (153) took eighth.

The event featured 15 teams and close to 400 wrestlers.

“It was a really tough tournament,” commented Warriors’ second-year head coach Steve Festa. “I’m really proud of them.”

Mae Hensley had a host of contributors.

In the varsity boy division, Alijah Jackson placed first with a 2-0 record at 95 pounds.

He collected wins against Livingston’s Bryce Battin (pin, 1:35) and Abhijot Singh (pin, 0:41).

Landon Ormonde placed third with a 3-1 record at 85 pounds.

He collected wins against Big Valley Christian’s Barrett Souza (pin, 2:41), Ustach’s Grant Dixon (decision, 3-2) and Turlock’s Weston Vasquez (pin, 1:37).

Jeremy Alvarez placed third with a 1-2 record at 125 pounds.

He bested Salida’s Marcel Bautista (pin, 1:40).

James Roark placed third with an 0-2 record at 90 pounds.

Michael King placed fifth with a 1-2 record at 115 pounds.

He bested Salida’s Damon Ferguson (decision, 3-2).

In the girls division, Abrianna Bautista placed first with a 3-0 record at 115 pounds.

She collected wins against Salida’s Reyna Herrera (pin, 1:13), Livingston’s Ileyah Blaine (pin, 0:28) and Turlock’s Isabel Fuentes (pin, 1:52).

Jazlyn Cisneros placed first with a 3-0 record at 125 pounds.

She collected wins against Somerset’s Annabelle Solis (pin, 1:44), Somerset’s Dazire Knapps (pin, 2:00) and Mae Hensley’s Sophia Santillian (decision, 5-3).

Madelyn Morales placed first with a 3-0 record at 130 pounds.

She collected wins against Savage’s Brisa Gutierrez Alvarez (pin, 0:22), Prescott’s Emmyliah Vaisau (decision, 12-5) and El Portal’s Ya ya Marsellis (pin, 2:31).

Zoey Swartz placed first with a 2-0 record at 90 pounds.

She collected wins against Livingston’s Tranpreet Kaur (pin, 2:50) and Prescott’s Katherine Hernandez (pin, 2:50).

Ava Velasquez placed second with a 2-1 record at 110 pounds.

She collected wins against Livingston’s Jazmin Blaine (pin, 1:42) and Creekside’s Ellla Sumabat (pin, 0:35).

Sophia Santillian placed second with a 2-1 record at 125 pounds.

She collected wins against Somerset’s Kalyiah Navattette (pin, 0:47) and Creekside’s Madison Macpherson (pin, 0:35).

Avril Gaona placed second with a 1-1 record in the 70-85 pound class.

She bested Mae Hensley’s Aaliyah Kemplin (decision, 6-0).

Ella Bullock placed second with a 1-1 record in the 185-210 pound class.

She bested Somerset’s Andrea Hernandez (pin, 1:25).

Cristal Silva placed second with an 0-2 record at 120 pounds.

Abbie Schultz placed third with a 3-2 record at 135 pounds.

She collected wins against Creekside’s Daniella Martinez (pin, 0:47), Mae Hensley’s Emmalina Morales (pin, 0:30) and Prescott’s Nayeli Aguilera (pin, 1:54).

Aaliyah Kemplin placed third with an 0-2 record in the 70-85-pound class.

Gabriella Cole placed fourth with a 2-2 record at 110 pounds.

She collected wins against Turlock’s Gallilea Vargas (major decision, 15-4) and Creekside’s Ellla Sumabat (pin, 2:14).

Emmalina Morales placed sixth with an 0-5 record at 135 pounds.

In the junior-varsity boys division, Jonathan Moody placed first with a 3-0 record at 135 pounds.

He collected wins against Livingston’s Sebastian Castro (pin, 2:00), El Portal’s Dylan Borges (pin, 0:24) and Creekside’s Adriano Cardenas (pin, 1:00).

Braydon Perales placed first with a 2-0 record at 95 pounds.

He collected wins against Ustach’s Ezra Sutherland (decision, 3-0) and El Portal’s Aaron Quiroz (decision, 6-1).

Anthony Aldana placed second with a 3-1 record at 130 pounds.

He collected wins against Savage’s Louie Camarillo (pin, 1:14), Prescott’s Matthew Rodrock (pin, 0:32) and Somerset’s Paul Estrema (pin, 1:34).

Adrian Bautista placed second with a 1-1 record at 140 pounds.

He bested Hughson’s Angel Cortes (pin, 2:14).

Konner Wolden placed second with a 1-1 record at 125 pounds.

He bested Salida’s Chance Maunakea (decision, 5-4).

Rambo Jacuinde placed second with an 0-2 record in the 100-105 pound class.

Alfredo Castillo placed third with an 0-2 record at 115 pounds.

In the beginner division, Abel Zuniga placed first with a 3-0 record at 100 pounds.

He collected wins against Somerset’s Santiago Suarez (decision, 8-2), Savage’s James Hines (major decision, 12-2) and Somerset’s Jinsu Lincon (decision, 1-0).

Isaiah Villamarim placed first with a 2-0 record at 145 pound.

He collected wins against Mae Hensley’s Michael Landers (pin, 2:48) and Salida’s Jayden-dior Eason (pin, 1:24).

Matthew Khoshaba placed second with a 1-2 record in the 235-250-pound class.

He bested Blaker-Kinser’s James Morales (pin, 1:37).

Martin Bonilla placed third with a 3-1 record at 185 pounds.

He collected wins against Creekside’s Jason Palacios (pin, 0:59), Ustach’s Scott Deadder (pin, 2:17) and Blaker-Kinser’s Miguel Martinez (pin, 2:49).

Moises Gonzalez placed third with a 1-2 record at 110 pounds.

He bested Mae Hensley’s Gabriel Raya (decision, 4-2).

Michael Landers placed third with an 0-2 record at 145 pounds.

Eli Osuna placed fourth with a 2-3 record at 125 pounds.

He collected wins against Big Valley Christian’s Jagdeep Singh (pin, 0:49) and Somerset’s Jesse Gamez (pin, 2:00).

Jayden Chapa placed fourth with a 2-2 record at 150 pounds.

Gabriel Raya placed fourth with a 1-2 record at 110 pounds.

He bested Turlock’s Cash Rossiter (decision, 13-12).

Jackson Horton placed fifth with a 2-2 record at 95 pounds.

Blaker-Kinser had 14 individual wrestle at the Mayhem Tournament.

In the varsity boys division, Breighdon Swenson placed second with a 3-1 record at 110 pounds.

Enrique Solorzano placed second with a 2-1 record at 210 pounds.

In the girls division, Mezmeriah Zuniga placed second with a 4-1 record at 135 pounds.

In the beginner division, Noah Sanchez placed first with a 4-0 record at 140 pounds.

He collected wins against Prescott’s Samir Bhuyan (pin, 0:32), Salida’s Elliot Legler (forfeit), Ustach’s Eli Wallen (pin, 0:20) and Somerset’s Melvin Syester (pin, 1:49).

Izriel Hardy placed first with a 3-0 record at 110 pounds.

Isaac Pacheco placed first with a 3-0 record at 120 pounds.

Luis Mendoza placed first with a 3-0 record at 135 pounds.

James Morales placed third with a 1-2 record in the 235-250 pound class.
