The Central Valley High School girls golf team opened its 2007 campaign with back-to-back victories last week.
"We had the goal set of winning both of our non-league matches even though they were both on the other team's home course," coach Mike Holliday said.
The Hawks posted a 317-346 win over Downey on Wednesday at Creekside.
Brooke Davis led Central Valley with a 12-over-par 48.
Sierra Barker and Lindsay O'Fearna shot 59 and 66, respectively.
Leslie Wyatt and Christian Magdaleno both carded 72.
Nicole Smith led the Knights with a 29-over-par 65.
Karen Smith, Jessika Benham, Hannah Gemp and Hilary Gemp shot 67, 68, 69 and 77, respectively.
Central Valley edged Patterson by two strokes, 240-242, on Tuesday, Aug. 21 at Diablo Grande.
Davis fired a team-best 16-over-par 52.
Barker, Wyatt and Magdaleno rounded out the Hawks' scorecard with a 58, 62 and 68.
Jessica Hansen earned low-medalist honors by posting a 15-over-par 51 for the Tigers.
Brooke Borba, Jordan Faria and Kendra Young finished with 57, 65 and 69, respectively.
