Dolphins secure split in Manteca, move to 3-3 in Mid Valley Swim League

The Ceres Dolphins recreational swim team split with a pair of MVSL rivals this past weekend.

Ceres outscored Modesto 1,294-695.5 on Saturday at East Union High School.

The Dolphins lost to Manteca, which racked up 1,694.5 points.

Ceres moved to 3-3 in the dual-meet standings.

"Overall, we had some really great performances," head coach Tracy Bull said.

Montana Bull (17-18 girls), Zachary Jones (15-16 boys), Julia Pata (13-14 girls), Jadyn Shinn (9-10 girls), Jordan Shinn (7-8 boys) and Emma Silveria (7-8 girls) combined to win all 18 of their individual races.

Pata posted personal-best times in the 100 IM, 100 free and 50 free.

"She swam exceptionally well," coach Bull said.

Individuals

17-18 boys

Victor Cruz placed first in the 50 free and 100 free, and second in the 100 IM.

Dillon Alexander placed third in the 50 free and 100 free.

17-18 girls

Montana Bull placed first in the 100 back, 100 IM and 50 fly.

Maureen Nelson placed first in the 100 free, 50 free and 50 breast.

Zachary Jones placed first in the 100 IM, 100 free and 50 free.
