Ceres High dropped its season opener in varsity swimming to visiting Downey last Friday.

The boys team surrendered points in multiple events in losing 98-41 to the Knights.

"We couldn't offset their numbers," Garcia said. "We had some events where we didn't even have any swimmers. The kids that swam did a great job."
