Cassandra Martinez held her own against some of the top offensive players in the Valley Oak League while starring on Central Valley High School's varsity girls soccer team this season.

The senior sweeper was rewarded for her efforts by being named to the All-VOL squad, along with Anabel Vazquez, Simi Talawan, and Alejandra Murillo.

Martinez earned first-team recognition.

"She's just got amazing speed," Hawks head coach Cyndi Meshach said.

Vazquez and Talawan were both selected to the VOL second team.

Anabel, a junior forward, tallied five goals and four assists.

Simi, a sophomore midfielder, had two goals and two assists.

Murillo, a senior defender, was an honorable-mention selection. Alejandra took the majority of Central Valley's free kicks. She collected a team-high six goals.

The Hawks finished in sixth place in the VOL with a 4-8-2 mark.
