Ceres High School's varsity boys tennis team is inching closer to claiming its second straight Western Athletic Conference title and third in the last four years.

The Bulldogs moved to 22-1 on the year and 9-0 in the WAC following last week's sweep of Pacheco and Livingston. Ceres High also set a program record for wins in a season, eclipsing the previous mark of 20.

Head coach Bryan Harden has yet to place an order for back-to-back championship T-shirts.

"That would be a little presumptuous," he said. "I don't count anything until it's in the books."

The Bulldogs notched their 16th straight win on Wednesday, pummeling Pacheco 9-0 in Los Banos.
Ceres High swept all six singles and three doubles matches.

Alick Liang won by default in No. 1 singles play.
Gurman Bains defeated Jose Ruelas 6-0, 6-1 in No. 2 singles play.

Chase Harden defeated Christian Hipolito 6-1, 6-0 in No. 3 singles play.

Heath Adrian and Dennis Phommalinh defeated Chirs Ballesteros and Oscar Rodriguez 6-2, 6-1 in No. 3 doubles play.

Ceres High cruised to an 8-1 win over host Livingston on March 25.

Julio Ochoa defeated Jacob Mercado 6-1, 6-1 in No. 1 singles play.

Liang defeated Edgar Mejia 6-2, 6-2 in No. 2 singles play.
Bains defeated Alex Mercado 6-1, 6-0 in No. 3 singles play.

Harden defeated Alex Garcia 6-2, 6-0 in No. 4 singles play.

Cortes defeated Salvador Cortez 6-2, 6-2 in No. 5 singles play.

Ortega defeated Homero Servin 6-1, 6-1 in No. 6 singles play.

Jimenez and Kumar defeated Eddie Servin and Fabian Garcia 6-0, 6-0 in No. 2 doubles play.

Adrian and Phommalinh defeated Abram Galvin and Jaime Merino 6-0, 6-0 in No. 3 doubles play.

The Bulldogs' final three WAC opponents are Patterson, Los Banos and Central Valley. Ceres High wants to compile a perfect 12-0 record in conference play.

The Bulldogs won 11 of 12 league matches in 2012.

"We've been dominating every team," coach Harden said. "We were expecting to do this last year."
