Ceres High's varsity girls swim team evened its Western Athletic Conference dual-meet record this past week.

The Bulldogs led from start to finish in coasting to a 119-67 victory over the Patterson Tigers on Thursday in Ceres.
Ceres High improved to 1-1 in the WAC standings.

"We had quite a few kids get personal bests," head coach Sue Garcia said.

Julia Pata, Ciana Sather, Kiera Brownlee, Camryn Silva, Jullissa Arreola, Kassandra Armas, Noelia de Leon, Rhiannon Wynne, Savannah Zielke, Ninweh Gorges, Micaela Franco, Silver Harvey, Jennifer Martinez and Priscilla Nungaray contributed to the Bulldogs' point total.

Pata swept the 50 free and 100 free.

Sather swept the 100 fly and 100 back.

Brownlee placed first in the 100 breast and second in the 200 IM.

Silva placed first in the 200 IM and second in the 100 free.

Arreola placed first in the 500 free and second in the 100 back.

Armas placed first in the 200 free and second in the 100 fly.

Noelia de Leon placed second in the 500 free and third in the 50 free.

Wynne placed third in the 200 IM and fourth in the 100 breast.

Zielke placed third in the 500 free and fifth in the 50 free.

Gorges placed third in the 200 free and sixth in the 100 breast.

Franco placed fourth in the 100 fly.

Harvey placed fifth in the 100 free and 100 back.

Martinez placed sixth in the 200 free.

Caleb Bishop swept the 200 free and 100 back.

Tristan Freitas-Scott swept the 200 IM and 100 fly.

Logan Kier swept the 50 free and 500 free.

Elliott Lewis swept the 100 free and 100 breast.

Marcus Martinez placed second in the 200 IM and 500 free.

Connor Mills placed second in the 100 fly.

Christian Pelayo placed second in the 50 free and third in the 100 back.

Adam Rantz placed second in the 100 breast and fourth in the 100 free.

Ignacio Ochoa placed third in the 200 IM.

Jacob Backman placed fourth in the 200 free and fifth in the 100 breast.

CV loses to Los Banos
Central Valley's varsity girls swim team dropped to 2-0 in the WAC dual-meet standings following Thursday's 122-31 loss at Los Banos.

The Tigers improved to 2-0.

Leilani Ortiz took second in the 50 free and 100 breast.

Aryanna Jimenez took second in the 100 fly and 100 free.

Leticia Sandoval took third in the 500 free.

Iris Arellano took fifth in the 50 free.

Belle Martinez took fifth in the 100 free.

Daniela Sandoval took sixth in the 100 free.

Central Valley's 200 medley relay team of Leticia Sandoval, Ortiz, Jimenez and Martinez took second.

Central Valley's 200 free relay team of Jimenez, Daniela Sandoval, Leticia Sandoval and Ortiz took third.

Central Valley's 400 free relay team of Puneeta Salhan, Naomi Carrera, Noelia Barron and Viviana Yepez took third.

Tigers 118, Hawks 23
Central Valley's varsity boys swim team suffered a 118-23 loss while competing against host Los Banos last week.

The Hawks dropped to 0-2 in the WAC standings.

The Tigers improved to 2-0.
Christian Oliver took second in the 50 free and 100 free.

Cesar Armas took second in the 200 free and third in the 100 breast.

Marcus Murillo took fourth in the 50 free.

Central Valley's 200 free relay team of Murillo, Oliver, Armas and Aaron Magana took second.

Central Valley's 400 free relay team of Murillo, Oliver, Magana and Andy Jacinto took third.

BASEBALL
Central Valley's varsity baseball team collected just three hits and committed five errors in losing 13-0 to Patterson on Thursday in Ceres.

"We're not meshing as well as we would like right now," Hawks head coach Derrick Goblirsch said. "We'll get there."

The Hawks dropped to 2-8-1 overall and 0-3 in the WAC standings.

"We need to string some wins together sooner than later," Goblirsch said. "It's important for our confidence."

Central Valley's Israel Anaya, Robert Garcia and Gabriel Campos all singled versus Patterson (6-6, 2-2).

Ty Borchardt and Alexis Solis both pitched for the Hawks.

Borchardt surrendered four earned runs, scattered 11 hits, fanned six and walked three in five innings.

Solis gave up three earned runs with two strikeouts and three walks in two innings.

The Hawks trailed 6-0 after two innings of play.

The Tigers scored four runs in the top of the seventh inning.

"We just fell behind early with some walks and errors and never got back in it," Goblirsch said.

Central Valley will play host to Livingston tomorrow at 4 p.m.

TRACK & FIELD
Central Valley varsity girls track and field standout Mahogany Simon placed first in the 300 hurdles and second in the 100 hurdles while competing at the County Clash V last Friday in Oakdale.

Blanca Espinoza placed 12th in the 400.

Chetna Kumar placed 17th in the 100.

Ceres High's Julia Pata placed second in the shot put.
Shania Evans placed seventh in the triple jump.

Azia Brewster placed ninth in the high jump and 10th in the long jump.

Azar Harrison placed 16th in the 200.

Ceres High varsity boys track and field standout Marcellus Boykins placed first in the triple jump and ninth in the long jump.

Conner Johnson placed third in the shot put.

Zyier Harrison placed seventh in the 100.

Daniel Yepez placed ninth in the 300 hurdles.

Joseph Gutierrez placed 24th in the 1,600.

Central Valley's Andres Rojo placed eighth in the 400.
