Ceres High's varsity boys golf program claimed its third straight Western Athletic Conference overall championship earlier this week.

"Winning three in a row is very impressive," junior standout golfer Gary Condit said. "It's hard to do that in any sport. I'm blessed to have a good team and coaches."

The Bulldogs accomplished the major feat thanks to their first-place finish at the WAC Year-End Tournament on Monday at Rancho Del Rey Golf Course.

"We would have been co-champs with Patterson if we didn't win today," Condit said. "We haven't played great throughout the season. But we pulled it off. That's what matters."

The Bulldogs posted a team score of 452 in Atwater.

"It was business as usual," Condit said.

Gary earned low-medalist honors at the WAC season-ending tourney for the third year in a row.

He carded a 9-over-par 81.

"I have the same mindset every match," Condit said. "I want to win."

Gary edged out Ceres High teammate Jayden Panyanouvong (82) by one stroke.

Jake Nevarez (91), Visanoukone Homsombath (97) and Braden Hurst (101) rounded out the Bulldogs' scorecard.

Panyanouvong and Homsombath are cousins.

Ceres High finished first four times and second and third once during WAC cluster play.

The Bulldogs totaled 27 points.

"They work hard," Ceres High head coach Scott Smith said. "They enjoy the game."

Runner-up Patterson had 25 points.

The Tigers also took second at the conference's year-end tournament.

"We feel confident going into every match," Condit said. "That (losing) never crosses our mind."
