CV girls collect first track and field conference victory, boys tie

Mahogany Simon, Chetna Kumar, Adria Robinson, Delores Uti, Anusha Kumar, Emily Curiel, Natalia Guzman and Blanca Espinoza helped lead Central Valley's varsity girls track and field team to its first victory of the 2017 Western Athletic Conference dual-meet season earlier this month.

The host Hawks defeated the Panthers, 69-56, on April 12 in Ceres.

Central Valley improved to 1-2 in the WAC standings.

Pacheco dropped to 1-2.

Mahogany placed first in the 300 hurdles and 100 hurdles.

Chetna placed first in the 200 and 100.

Adria placed first in the shot put and discus.

Delores placed first in the long jump.

Anusha placed second in the 200 and 100.

Emily placed second in the 100 hurdles and third in the 300 hurdles.

Natalia placed second in the discus and third in the shot put.

Blanca placed third in the 200.

Hawks, Panthers tie
Central Valley's and Pacheco's varsity boys track and field teams both earned 68 points during their WAC showdown.

The Hawks and Panthers both have identical 0-2-1 records in the WAC standings.

Andres Rojo placed first in the 800 and 400.

Sebastian Pena placed first in the 100.

Chase Bogart placed first in the 1,600, and second in the 3,200 and 800.

Enrique Martinez placed first in the 3,200 and second in the 1,600.

Angel Lopez placed second in the 400.

Estevan Barragan placed second in the 100.

Patric Senesom placed second in the 110 hurdles.

Sergio Garcia placed second in the pole vault and third in the 400.

Alejandro Saucedo placed second in the 300 hurdles and third in the 110 hurdles.

Raquesh Hernandez placed second in the shot put and third in the discus.

Emmanuel Murillo placed third in the 3,200.

Joseph Juarez placed third in the 800.

David Lezama placed third in the shot put.

Nasson Sanchez placed third in the long jump.

Central Valley will compete at Patterson today at 3:30 p.m.
