Crosstown-rivals Ceres High and Central Valley faced off in six varsity sports this winter.
The Hawks collected seven wins, two losses and one tie against the Bulldogs during the Western Athletic Conference regular season.
Central Valley topped Ceres High in boys and girls wrestling.
The Hawks bested the Bulldogs twice in girls soccer.
Central Valley defeated and tied Ceres High once in boys soccer.
The Hawks and Bulldogs were evenly-matched in boys and girls basketball.
BOYS WRESTLING
The Hawks cruised to a 76-6 road victory over the Bulldogs on Jan. 28 at Phil de la Porte Gymnasium.
Central Valley won 13 of the dual’s 14 individual matches.
The Hawks compiled a 6-1 record on their way to tying for first place in the WAC dual-meet standings with Grace Davis.
The Bulldogs placed seventh in league with a 1-6 mark.
GIRLS WRESTLING
Central Valley overcame a 15-point deficit on its way to earning a hard-fought 48-33 win against Ceres High on Senior Night on Jan. 28 at Phil de la Porte Gymnasium.
The Hawks won eight of the dual’s 14 individual matches.
Central Valley finished second overall in the WAC dual standings with a 6-1 record.
Ceres High (5-2) placed third.
GIRLS SOCCER
Central Valley outscored Ceres High 15-0 during their two matches.
The Hawks closed out WAC play with a 7-0 road win over the Bulldogs on Feb. 10 at CUSD Stadium.
Central Valley dominated the first meeting by a score of 8-0 on Jan. 15 at Ceres River Bluff Regional Park.
The Hawks defended their WAC championship with a near-perfect 13-1-0 mark.
The Bulldogs finished fifth in the league standings (4-8-2).
BOYS SOCCER
Central Valley prevailed in thrilling fashion and battled to a scoreless tie during a pair of tightly-contested games versus Ceres High.
The Hawks narrowly topped the Bulldogs, 1-0, in the rain on Feb. 10 at Ceres River Bluff Regional Park.
Central Valley and Ceres High had to settle for a 0-0 draw on Jan. 15 at CUSD Stadium.
The Hawks (7-4-3) and Bulldogs (6-5-3) finished fourth and fifth, respectively, in WAC play.
BOYS BASKETBALL
The Bulldogs and Hawks both won while defending their home courts.
Ceres High capped off the 2025-26 season in memorable fashion.
The host Bulldogs earned bragging rights with a 73-70 win over the Hawks in front of a large crowd on Feb. 13 at Phil de la Porte Gymnasium.
Central Valley pulled away for a 65-47 win over visiting Ceres High on Jan. 23.
The fourth-place Hawks (6-8) finished one spot ahead of the Bulldogs (4-10) in the WAC standings.
GIRLS BASKETBALL
Ceres High sought redemption while playing host to Central Valley on Feb. 12.
Three weeks removed from losing by one point to the Hawks, the Bulldogs dominated the rematch by a score of 48-27 at Phil de la Porte Gymnasium.
Ceres High earned bragging rights and secured a berth to the Sac-Joaquin Section Division-III playoffs.
The Hawks upset the Bulldogs 34-33 at home on Jan. 22.
Ceres High (9-5) and Central Valley (1-13) took third and last, respectively, in WAC play.
