Hawks fall to fourth place in volleyball

Central Valley's varsity boys volleyball team lost to Los Banos Tigers and Livingston Wolves in Western Athletic Conference play this past week.

The Hawks dropped to fourth in the WAC standings following Thursday's 3-2 (25-15, 20-25, 25-20, 21-25, 15-12) setback while battling the visiting Tigers.

"I believe my team worked very hard and don't really feel they could have done anything different in the LB game," head coach Kelly Heese said. "They played great ball."

Roberto Cisneros dished out 18 assists for Central Valley (2-5).

Javier Villanueva chipped in with 10 kills and two blocks.

Erick Martinez totaled nine kills and two aces.

Ivan Velasquez added wo kills and two blocks.

Visiting Central Valley was beaten 3-0 (27-25, 25-19, 25-17) by first-placeLivingston on April 16.

Roberto Cisneros led the Hawks with 12 assists.

Martinez collected eight blocks, four kills and three aces.

Hector Herrera tallied seven kills and three blocks.

Villanueva had six kills and five blocks.

Central Valley will compete at Patterson on Thursday at 6 p.m.
