Ceres High’s girls golf team collected one win and one loss during Western Athletic Conference play last week.
The Bulldogs prevailed by forfeit versus the Johansen Vikings and lost 289-345 to the Beyer Patriots on Sept. 26 at Creekside Golf Course.
Ceres High moved to 3-5 in the WAC standings.
The Bulldogs have won three of their last four matches.
Ceres High forfeited its first four matches due to a lack of numbers.
Brooke Trio led the Bulldogs with a 58.
Kyleigh Robinson, Allison Lewis, Brooke Kiser and Makelle Selby shot 66, 69, 75 and 77, respectively.
“My three new starters (Robinson, Kiser and Selby) are doing a great job,” Ceres High head coach Ron Edwards said. “They haven’t maxed out on any of the courses this year.”
Unable to field a full lineup, Central Valley’s girls golf team lost by forfeit to El Capitan on Thursday and Patterson on Sept. 26.
The Hawks did post individual scores against the Gauchos and Tigers.
Kali Bernal fired a team-best 43 during Central Valley’s loss to El Capitan at Merced Country Club.
Kendall Fleeman, Dayanara Rosales and Annalyse Perry shot 54, 57 and 63, respectively.
Fleeman carded a team-best 39 during Central Valley’s loss to Patterson at St. Stanislaus.
Bernal and Perry finished with identical rounds of 50.
Mariani rounded out the Hawks’ scorecard with a 61.
Central Valley dropped to 3-6 in the Central California Conference standings.
TENNIS
Central Valley’s girls tennis team dropped to 4-6 overall and 2-6 in the Central California Conference last week.
The Hawks suffered a 7-2 road loss while competing against the Patterson Tigers on Thursday.
Aaliyah Jauregui prevailed 6-2, 6-0 in No. 4 singles play.
Melanie Chavez and Valeria Sanchez prevailed 6-7, 6-4, 6-4 in No. 1 doubles play.
Host Merced shut out Central Valley 9-0 on Sept. 26.
WATER POLO
Ceres High’s girls water polo team improved to 3-4 in Western Athletic Conference play this past week.

Amber Hopwood led the Bulldogs in scoring with two goals.

Central Valley’s flag football team faced Merced and Patterson last week.
The Hawks dropped to 2-15 overall and 1-7 in the CCC following Thursday’s 19-0 loss to Merced in Ceres.
Central Valley lost 14-0 to visiting Patterson on Sept. 26.
