Central Valley stunt cheer leader Erika Guillory had reason to celebrate following the Valley Oak League year-end head coaches’ meeting held via Zoom on May 7.

Eleven Hawk student-athletes were recognized for leading Central Valley to the VOL championship during the spring sports season, including Valeeya Carr, Allyana Balancio, Sofia Botero, Keidis Jauregui, Ellah Mordinoia, Kaily Reyes, Aaliyah Smith, Kailani Ramirez, Thalia Robertson, Evelyn Gomez and Mariah Pawlovich.

“I’m overwhelmingly proud of each of the girls,” Guillory stated. “It’s a positive reflection of their hard work and dedication to the sport and team. All-league selections are a stepping stone for continued growth within the CV stunt program. These girls encourage other athletes to build on their success, address areas for improvement, and strive for even greater achievements in the future, such as all-league.”

Carr, a sophomore, was voted the VOL’s Most Valuable Player.

A utility player, Carr was utilized in partner stunts, pyramids and tumbling.

“Valeeya shows determination, strength, agility, and ability in all aspects of the game,” Guillory said. “Valeeya was the highest ranked player at CV for stunt rankings. As a sophomore, her future is bright.”

Balancio, a sophomore, was voted Flyer of the Year.

“Allyana is a talented flyer, participating in every partner and pyramid stunt during the season,” Guillory said. “Ally was the only flyer during the 2025 season to hit and win the point for the highest play played in the VOL. Flyers require a combination of strength, flexibility, balance, and body awareness to perform stunts effectively and safely. Ally showed all these skills during the season.”

Botero, a senior, was voted Backspot of the Year.

“Sofia is one of the most passionate, intelligent, committed, and talented backspots,” Guillory said. “Sofia is very knowledgeable on each play and takes charge in her group being a valuable asset behind any flyer as a backspot.”

Jauregui, a junior, was voted Utility Player of the Year.

She was utilized as a flyer and tumbler.

“Keidis was the leading tumbler in skills, hitting a layout in the VOL championship game,” Guillory said. “She has a strong presence on the mat, with amazing body control and confidence.”

Mordinoia, Reyes and Smith were named to the VOL First Team.

Mordinoia, a freshman utility player, was utilized as a tumbler and flyer.

“She has a bright future ahead of her in stunt,” Guillory said.

Reyes, a junior, was utilized as a main base.

“She was part of the only stunt group to hit and complete the highest partner stunt played in the VOL this season,” Guillory said.

Smith, a junior, also excelled as a main base.

“She participated in every level of partner and pyramid stunts,” Guillory said.

Ramirez and Robertson were named to the VOL Second Team.

Ramirez, a junior, was a strong leader in tumbling.

“She really stepped up being able to adapt and adjust for the benefit of the team,” Guillory said.

Roberston, a sophomore, was a newcomer to Central Valley’s stunt cheer team.

She switched from main base to side base in all plays.

“She killed it as a base,” Guillory said. “

Gomez and Pawlovich were VOL honorable-mention selections.

Gomez, a senior, was a strong and dependable backspot.

“She stepped up as a team leader with a no-nonsense attitude,” Guillory said.

Pawlovich, a senior, was one of Central Valley’s main tumblers.

“She taught herself to tumble, learning stand and running tumbling,” Guillory said.
