Ceres High girls basketball coach Shawna Nunes didn't know what to expect when the Bulldogs opened their 2004-2005 season at home against Edison on Tuesday, Nov. 16.

"They did much better than anticipated given half of the team had less than four days of practice," she said.

Krystle Brown, Meghan Franksen, Jessica Mazza, Jennifer Arnold and Heather Jones joined the team after competing in the postseason in other sports. Brown, Franksen, Mazza and Arnold led the Ceres High volleyball team into the second round of the playoffs. Jones and JV girls cross country team finished in second place at the section championships.
