Harman Chung's offensive rebound putback lifted Ceres High School's boys basketball team to a 13-11 win over Pitman during Modesto Junior College Summer League Play on Thursday, June 30.

Chung, a sophomore post player, scored the winning bucket with 3 seconds left in regulation.

"The ball fell right in my hands and I made it," said Harman, who totaled a team-high five points.

Binder Atwal and Jr. Garcia both contributed three points.

Angel Garcia had two points.

Ceres High and Pitman combined to score just 24 points.

The contest consisted of two, 10-minute halves.

Ceres High bounced back after suffering a 51-47 loss to Escalon an hour earlier.

Jose Nava and Abel Reyes both tallied 10 points against the Cougars.

Atwal, Angel Garcia, Terry Brogdon and Jr. Garcia finished with nine, seven, four and three points, respectively.

Chung and Mike Ghimenti collected two points each.

The Bulldogs faced a 31-21 deficit at halftime.

Reyes' floater in the key evened the score at 47-all with 45 seconds to play.

Escalon outscored Ceres High 4-0 the rest of the way.

Ceres High and Riverbank faced off at 6:35 p.m.

The Bulldogs won, 47-44.

Ceres High compiled a 2-10 record at Modesto Junior College this summer.

"We improved a lot," Chung said.
