History was made on Thursday in Ceres. The Ceres High girls water polo team notched its third consecutive victory in league.

"I don't think it's ever happened," said Ceres coach Lesley Willems. "Even when I was playing, the most we won was two (straight)."

Ceres improved to 3-2 in the Modesto Metro Conference.

"They're working a lot better as a team," Willems said. "The more practice they get, the better they'll be."

The Bulldogs held the Spartans scoreless in the second quarter.

"I think this was the best performance they've had this season," Willems said. "It can only get better."

Each team scored three goals in the second half.
