The Ceres Youth Baseball seven-and-under George Costa All-Star Team finished in first place during the TPR Summer League Season.
Ceres compiled a perfect 13-0 record.
The Costa All-Stars won both of their playoff games.
Ceres routed the Kraken Baseball Club 17-3 in the finals on Aug. 26 and shut out the TPR Dodgers 6-0 in the semifinals on Aug. 18.
“The kids did awesome,” head coach Ralph Valencia said. “They played hard and had a lot of fun.”
“They all hit the ball very well,” he added. “Defensively, they knew where to go with the ball. They listened well.”
The TPR Summer League season started in June and ended in August.
Games were played at three different sites, including the Rainbow Complex (Modesto), Mistlin Sports Park (Ripon) and Big League Dreams Sports Complex (Manteca).
“I figured we’d do well because we had a good mix of kids,” Valencia said. “They’re all in their second or third year of coach pitch. We have an experienced coaching staff as well. That helps.”
Valencia has three assistant coaches in Derrick Goblirsch, Juan Santillan and Randy Wheeler.
The Costa All-Stars’ roster consists of 12 players, including Malaki Amkhamavong, Adrian Barragan, Sebastian Delagrande, Zeke Goblirsch, Jaye Harrison, Zael Jones, Jeremiah Lopez, Jaxson Ochoa, Roman Raj, Grayson Ram, Diego Santillan and Adan Valencia.
Ceres placed in two of four tournaments while playing up an age group during the summer circuit.
The Costa All-Stars took second at both the Costa and Bel Passi events.
Ceres finished in the top four at the Hilmar and Newman tourneys.
The Costa All-Stars capped off the 2025 season by claiming the TPR Summer League championship.
“You could definitely see the progression,” coach Valencia said. “They improved as the season went on. They were much more confident in the way they were hitting and fielding.”
Ceres will compete as an 8-and-under team during Fall Ball play at Costa Fields.
The season will get underway on Sept. 8.
