A 20-year-old Turlock man who allegedly evaded Ceres Police in a Tuesday, August 20 high-speed pursuit was arrested two days later.
The chase was initiated at 9:15 p.m. when Ceres Police Officer Charles Lord-Huff spotted a Dodge Charger speeding down southbound Highway 99 at Hatch Road. The officer attempted to catch up to the driver who accelerated faster and turned off his headlights. The chase was terminated near the Taylor Road exit when police lost sight of the vehicle and considered the driver too reckless for public safety.
However, police followed up the investigation and identified Sergio Prado, 20, of Turlock as the driver during the pursuit. Prado was arrested at approximately 3:15 p.m. on Thursday, charged with evading police in a vehicle. He was booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center.
