ATV rider stopped, arrested for warrants

A 31-year-old Modesto man who was riding an ATV on public streets in the dark with no headlights was taken into custody Tuesday morning when he was found to have warrants.

Officer Freddie Ortiz was on patrol at 12:17 a.m. when he spotted the ATV being driven at Morgan Road and Nelson Avenue without lighting equipment. When he stopped Timothy Black the officer learned of several outstanding arrest warrants. Black was searched and found to have suspected methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia in his possession. He was into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center.
