Burglary suspect arrested
Ceres Cop Car

A Stockton man with a history of committing burglaries was found with burglary tools in Ceres on Wednesday afternoon, Nov. 11.

Officer Justin Canatsy attempted to make a bike stop in the area of Glenda Way and Central Avenue at 4:55 p.m. but Kristopher Huff, 27, of Stockton, rode off. Canatsy chased after Huff in the patrol car. As the chase ended, Canatsy parked and tried to tackle Huff who bailed the bike and ran off on foot.

Additional officers arrived and found Huff hiding under a tree near the northbound Whitmore Avenue off-ramp near Kentucky Fried Chicken.

Huff was found to be on active probation and parole for prior burglary convictions. After burglary tools were found in his possession, police contacted his parole agent who granted a hold. Huff was booked into the Stanislaus County Jail on charges of delaying an officer, possession of burglary tools and parole violation.
