A 29-year-old Ceres woman was taken off the road Sunday evening and booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center for driving while intoxicated and getting involved in a crash.
At approximately 8:56 p.m., Ceres Police Officer Eric Garcia responded to the report of a crash in the area of Central Avenue and Evans Road.
One of the drivers, Maribel Farciert Castillo, 29, of Ceres, showed signs of being under the influence of alcohol. Castillo was given a series of field sobriety tests which she performed in a manner consistent with someone under the influence of alcohol. She was arrested for DUI and breath samples she provided showed her blood alcohol content was over double the legal limit.
