CHP seeks driver who fatally struck pedestrian and left victim in Morgan Road

The California Highway Patrol is seeking the public’s help in locating the vehicle and driver responsible for the deadly pedestrian crash on a Ceres road early Saturday morning.

The crash, which ended the life of Johnny Perez, 40, of Modesto, was reported at 3:48 a.m. on Morgan Road south of Marchy Lane. The site of the crash is west of the Ceres wastewater treatment plant.

Emergency personnel arrived on scene and found Perez mortally injured in the roadway. The driver had fled the scene.

CHP investigators are hoping to hear from anyone who is aware of a vehicle that sustained right front fender or right front bumper collision damage. CHP does not have any further identifying information in regards to the associated vehicle.
